ONCE UPON A TIME IN SABAH - LAND BELOW THE WIND

We went to visit Kota Kinabalu (KK), Sabah few years ago. KK is the capital city of Sabah. We stayed at Promenade Hotel located just next to the city waterfront with views overlooking the South China Sea. Although Sabah is a beautiful state blessed with a natural beauty, yet it is one of the poorest state in Malaysia. Anyway, we did enjoy our short holiday break in Sabah. We rent a small car for two days to travel around KK.

Our experience climbing the famous Mount Kinabalu for about 1.5km was spectacular. We started our climbing from Timpohon Gate. We're so enthusiastic to climb the mountain as far as we can.

Then reached 0.5km, hehehhehe you can see my hubby's face. As for me, I and my big butt really struggled to reach the first shelter.

The rest is history hehehhe.

Then on the way back, we dropped by Poring Hot Springs and Sabah Tea Garden. My hubby said driving along the road from KK to Mount Kinabalu area and Ranau was very challenging and frightening because of the thick fog and overloaded timber trucks.
