We rented a new Proton Persona at Hertz in KLIA and shot straight to our hotel in the Kuching Waterfront area. The car like all other previous models, excluding Perdana and the earlier version of Wira, it made us felt like sitting in a tin can with a cheap plastic dashboard that has a sleek outlook. The automatic gear change and the pickup were terrible and I felt like driving a 1.3 in a 1.6 car.
Anyway, we’d to drag our XXL luggages three floor up from the basement car park after being chased away by the hotel front door security. There’s not much help

from the concierge either as they seem to be too engrossed in their own conversation rather than helping their guest. Then the hotel reception, I would suggest that they should attend a proper PR boot camp. I think they should take the front desk in Kuching Holiday Inn, Kuching Hilton etc as a benchmark of friendliness. Our nightmare had just started because our room air conditioning system broke down. It became a heater and our room felt like a sauna with 35⁰C outside and probably 38⁰C inside! Luckily that evening around 11PM, their super efficient maintenances came and fixed it after our numero

us pleas at the front desk.
Well, the following day wasn’t that eventful except a funny experience we’d in Public Bank. We didn’t know if the bank officer was playing a joke on us or the whole situation was coincidentally turned into a rather comical scene ..hehe but that’s another story. Afterall, it's Kuching!
Basically, we’d crossed Sarawak Laksa, Umai, Perdana Car Park Seafood, Sea cucumber soup, roti canai, Ikan Pari bakar, Steam err colourful fish??, Midin Belacan and Curry Ambal off our list except for Mee Kolok at O'ten. Oh ya, I managed to taste the good old Kuching Kopi-O as well.
