Blood Diamond.. * * * * superb!!

We give 4 stars for this film. Learnordo DiCaprio is really an excellent actor in this movie. He has really transformed his way of acting. Definitely no more boyish look, romeo style or romance through Titanic era. Also, watch out for his Jamaican accent .. according to my husband!

The movie itself is grand with smooth storyline and plots. This movie is better than Syriana or Rwanda Hotel. It speaks the reality about the value of diamond beyond our imagination. This is Africa! I couldn't stop my tears watching how the corrupt political system abused the childrens for the sake of their own corrupt mind.

After watching this film, I make a promise to myself to be a responsible buyer. I hope all of you who happen to read this post will also do the same. Buying a diamond from a conflict country is the same like you are supporting the conflict in Africa! According to Global Witness :

"Conflict diamonds, also known as blood diamonds, are diamonds that are used by rebel groups to fuel conflict and civil wars. They have funded brutal conflicts in Africa that have resulted in the death and displacement of millions of people. Diamonds have also been used by terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda to finance their activities and for money-laundering purposes.
