Paris!

Finally, I got a chance to update this blog before Yang did..hehe. Our holiday in Paris was excellent except for a few strange and confused encounters. Well, the city itself is full of history and the parks are beautiful in the summer.

For short, I envy those who have a chance to stay there instead of London. The breathtaking sights of Effiel Tower, Notre Dame, Arch of Triumph and Lourve Museum, and not forgetting the areas around Invalides had impressed me. Apart from that, the uniqueness of signs and directions around Charles de Gualle airport, Museum, RER and Metro which mostly led us to nowhere also impressed me. Then the Tourist Information Centre at Gare Du Nord gave us a professional detail direction to our Open Tour bus stop, i.e. "You go, go, go straight and turn." and we ended up in a middle of nowhere next to a taxi stand near the Kebab shop! Then in Lourve museum, we'd a whirlwind guides to hunt for Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. We wasted half day with the "You go up up, then down straight turn etc" directions from the Museum staff. Most of the time, the arrows’ signs which supposed to point the destination went missing or disappeared and left us to complete the rest of the puzzles like a game of Soduku. Come to think of it, we'd our direction mixed up since the very 1st day in Paris at the airport. Gosh! The directions were very confusing esp. the arrows are pointing down ward for this way or forward with no directions given for immigration's counter, and the queue was err.. hmm I mean what queue ? It reminds me of those queues for RyanAir/Easyjet flights. By the end of our trip, our head was spinning even more when we got our Departure Gate mixed up with the Check-In desk. Yupp, thank to the unique work flows where we'd our passport stamped by the immigration before arriving at the Check-In counter which is just next to the Departure gate! My wife kept telling me that it is all about arts. Parisian loves arts and they tend to turn everything into arts! Gosh! I give up, I’m not that artistic type of person but they do have a very fascinating culture. Anyway, we enjoyed our trip. Paris is a very beautiful city and packed with nice people.
