Pure Disappointment

Yeah disappointment, a big let-down, anti-climax, bad judgement and frustration whatever you call it. When politic gets involves in something, things are bound to go wrong. So, how sincere are they in helping out? We used to have one of the best football team in the South East Asia region back in the 70s. But then all went downhill when politic got involved. Same goes for our badminton team for Thomas Cup and All England in the 80s. Then our hockey and bicycle team.. gosh! I’m not thinking out loud but politic and sport, they just don’t mix. Why can’t these people understand? It starts from the level where one who has been entrusted a power of making decision have an idea of their own on how to skim and exploit the situation at the right moment. Decisions clouded by their own agenda and not on the interest of those who toil day and night trying to get the ball into the goal or swinging their racket or batting their heavy hockey sticks on the hockey ground. It’s like a virus infection, spreading from the top to the bottom, and then killing the root in the progress. At the end, good team will be divided like our football team. These people always use excuses like “in the interest of ....” or “benefiting both...” to achieve their own agenda. Then, one group will be favoured by the good grace of god while the other will be demonised or discarded, and in the end good players left for Singapore FC and Brunei FC. Well, these politicians who sit up there stroking their pen base on one sided reports, assumptions and then making clouded decisions like as if we’re a bunch of dummy taxpayers who believe that they’ve been working hard to save the world. But pity those down there who suffer and struggle, trying to meet some ridiculous demands or some marketing targets set by an ambitious politician to capture the next day headline or win more votes in the next election. Sometimes, it gives an impression as if they’re all ears but in fact the decision has already been made and that’s just another catchy word to show the world about the impartiality or equality exist among all levels. What used to be a vibrant, full of energy, dynamic and forward thinking group that entertained all of us in front of our TV ended with a boring, gloomy, dull, an oppressive, greyish, foggy and a politically corrected issue till these days.
