Bored, boring and cakap kosong.

For those who had been to the night hawker stalls at Kuching Satok will always remember how crowded they were. Tables and chairs were squashed together and packed like sardines. There is nothing unique about that area. Basically, most of them are selling the same thing. I know it sounds very dull but the unique thing which impressed me was the way they took their order. I remember one kid came to us and started promoting his stall, "Cik, sini cik makan kat kedai kamek, duduk sini.." sound very err.. typical, common eh? but when he lashed out his script of menu without full stop or commas to catch his breath, we were impressed. He skilled his way thru their menu with various tunes - without stopping or looking at their menu, he memorized everything! - it goes something like this "Cik makan kat sini, kamek ade bermacam macam jenis makanan kami ade mee soto mee sapi nasi goreng kampung nasi goreng cina mee mamak ayam goreng nasi ayam ikan bakar sotong bakar kangkong belacan kangkong sotong rojak air ABC cincau teh tarik kopi O neslo air bandung sup campur, sup tulang sup ekor sayur campur bee hoon sup bee hoon belacan...blah blah' with high and low tunes for approximately 5 minutes! none stop. What a marketing skill ! and yes, we ended up having dinner at his stall. So ‘tak sia sia ler dia punya promotion..’ hehe.
