Weekend no.4

I'd made it to the 4th week! And I had salad and potato wedges for dinner. It's 8.00 pm now and the sun still shines through my window like a mid afternoon. What a weird summer we've this year. It must be something to do with our eco system.
Interesting, the UKTV History channel is screening the 'Killing Hitler'. They've these theories after theories, possibilities with what if.. hehe. Gosh! I wish I can get my cheat code working in my Call Of Duty 2.. haha.. for stress releasing moments.
Our Powergen quarterly bill arrived yesterday with £97.00 for summer ..err mid summer. Our last winter bill was £201.00 which I think that was an average usage for all houses in UK. I am still waiting for our BT bill which never gives us any surprises in the amount of our usage.. hehe b’cos we opt for their cheapest plan.
I’m beginning to wonder why we’d stuck with BT – British Telecom in the first place. There are few others which offer a very competitive rate. I recall our first day in London, ahh now I see, it’s Yasin the Porter, err, not Harry Potter but he’s the porter in our old flat at Westbourne Court. He's the one who suggested that we should use "PT". We always had problem understand his Moroccan English. Yang tried her best to avoid him every time she passed by his office at the ground floor. He can be very ruthless sometimes but very hard working at the same time. As we get to know him, he became a very nice fella especially when he found out that we’re from Malaysia. I remember my first conversation with him when we moved into that old flat; “Excuse me sir, how do we get our phone line working?’ He answered, “PT , PT.. you call PT” He paused for awhile and I went blanked. “Huh PT? what? Err come again, you mean the telecom company?” He continued, “YES, PT.. British Telecom, where you all from?” I said to myself, ‘Oh he meant B.T, British Telecom. I thought he was referring to Polish Telecom’. Anyway, after we known him for sometimes he became one of my advisor to get around London. Well, I will always remember one of his advices. He made a comment about me in one of our conversation, “You’re a nice person, very straight and that’s no good, in order for you to live here you have to be tough and ruthless. There are so many conmen out there. So many people come from so many different countries. They can be killers, murders, crazy, very very dodgy you know. We don’t know their background. Don’t let the others take advantage of you.” Ahhh.. Yasin, I wonder what happen to him now. I would go down to his office for a short chat when I’m bored. He always talked about his family, foods and home town in Morocco. I guess we all do miss our home town every now and then. Maybe, I will drop by to see if he’s around Westbourne Court next weekend.
